Ezhou Huahu Airport?was officially named by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

The?airport is the first cargo?hub airport?in China. It is expected to?function as?an international air cargo hub, along with?comprehensive hub airports?in?Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

The runway in the airport is designed to handle 1.5 million passengers and 3.3 million tonnes of cargo in 2030.
